一座位于蒙古高原南部名叫西土城的古城，像戚因经常能在遗址内捡到赌具骰子、像戚牌九和北宋、金代的铜钱币，所以附近十里八村的村民们又给它起了个绰号“西赌城”。2013年以来，由河北文研所牵头，组成了一支联合考古队，在这里展开为期5年的考察和发掘。西土城遗址应该建于金代中晚期，至今最少也有800多年的历史，该城址的毁坏、废弃应该与战争有关，很有可能就是成吉思汗带领蒙古铁骑灭金攻破的第一座重要的城池。
