剧情简介

1965年,日韩朱丽亚被代理主教派到了拜仁的小村庄雷尔巴赫建立一个儿童之家。因不满市长和神父挑选的场所,日韩朱丽亚决定自己选址。她走访多处,终于发现一处已为他用的军营。军官卡特带着朱丽亚参观了宽敞明亮的军营,并让她以低廉的价格买了下来。朱丽亚修整军营后,儿童之家正式建立,孩子们十分开心。朱丽亚因为帮助邻居特蕾莎避孕、将虐待儿子的村民告上法庭,遭到许多村民的排挤。深受打击的朱丽亚被代理主教召回。经过代理主教的一番开导,朱丽亚再次回到雷尔巴赫。在日渐相处中,村民们对朱丽亚的态度有所改观,他们开始送来食物帮助儿童之家渡过难关。越来越好的儿童之家又迎来了一批新的孩子。卡特来找朱丽亚,说自己要被调到拉姆斯坦解决那边的战事,两人依依惜别,朱丽亚表示会一直等他。

The film starts with verse 67, “O somma luce…” and continues to the end. “O Somma luce” recalls the first words uttered by Empedocles in Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub’s 1987 The Death of Empedocles—“O himmlisch Licht!…” (O heavenly light!). This extract from Hölderlin’s text is also inserted into their 1989 film Cézanne.“O somma luce” invokes utopia, or better still “u-topos,” Dante, Holderlin, Cézanne… the camera movement, recalling Sisyphus, in the film’s long shots, suggests its difficulty.In O somma luce, with Giorgio Passerone’s Dante and the verse that concluded the Divine Comedy, we find at the extremity of its possibilities, the almost happy speech of a man who has just left earthly paradise, who tries to fully realize the potential of his nature. Between the two we find the story of the world.
