Peat有个幸福的一家三口之家，伦敦可爱的女儿让她在社交平台上也小有名气。有天女儿意外走丢了，伦敦Peat四处贴寻人启事、上节目都没有办法找到女儿的踪迹。直到有天警察告诉她，疑似找到了女儿的衣物，通过化验DNA也曝光了一个惊天的秘密：女儿的DNA和丈夫是不符的。这说明了什么，大家都心照不宣。所有人包括丈夫都告诉Peat停止寻找女儿，女儿已经死了。Peat作为母亲的直觉不愿相信自己女儿已经死了，为了寻找女儿自己去接触如何用枪、雇了一个私家侦探调查，然而真相的背后却比自己想象的还要复杂，也把他们带入了一个危险的境地……
