在东京繁华街头的某个角落，电影伫立着一家并不起眼的面包房——暮林烘培坊。每天晚上11点到次日清晨5点是它的营业时间，电影夜深人静，午夜时分，美味的面包给了多少孤独人儿以心灵的慰籍。半年前，女主人美和子（伊藤步 饰）因车祸去世，他的丈夫阳介（泷泽秀明 饰）为此中止了海外的工作，担当起烘培坊新的主人，同时向自诩为天才面包师的柳弘基（桐山照史 饰）学习烘烤面包的技术。二人脚踏实地，希望能早日开办分店，让更多人尝到他们的面包。这一日，自称美和子同父异母的妹妹篠崎希实（土屋太凤 饰）的高中女孩突然到来。善良的阳介收留了她，三个各自有着许多故事的人守护每一个安静的深夜，见证着每一位顾客的人生起伏……本片根据大沼纪子的同名原作改编。

回复 :Barnaby and DS Scott investigate the murder of Patrick Pennyman, an undertaker in the village of Fletcher's Cross. The man's wife thinks he committed suicide but the pathologist determines he was killed. The man died soon after his return home after attending a service at the local spiritualist church, itself the source of some controversy in the village. As the investigation progresses, the police learn that Pennyman was generally disliked. Former employees, business partners and others all had a grudge against him of one sort or another. Barnaby believes the head of the Spiritualist church to be a charlatan and while there is a link to the ever increasing number of murder victims, the solution to the crimes is to be found in an illicit love affair.

New characters in the second series include Barbara (Lorraine Pilkington), the next door neighbour who is meant to be brilliant at raising her children and always highlights Sue's problems,[5] and Jo, a female friend of Jake's, played by Michaela Brooks. Pete and Sue are suspicious that Jo may actually be Jake's girlfriend, although there is no evidence to suggest that Jake and Jo are more than friends. Angela appears less prominently in the second series than in the first, although she still appears in the first episode. Sue's demanding boss, unseen character Veronica, is replaced by another unseen character, Sue's new boss Tyson, who Pete is suspicious of. It is revealed in the final episode of Series 2 that Tyson was a conman.
